Position DescriptionUnder the direction of the School of Nursing Graduate Program Department Chair, this part-time position will provide academic and clinical instruction within the School of Nursing Graduate Program while maintaining academic standards as established by the school and the university.

Major / Essential Functions- Provides academic and clinical instruction within the School of Nursing.
- Plans, coordinates, and conducts classroom and clinical experiences for students.
- Maintains advanced practice expertise in designated specialty area.
- Participates in scholarly and academic activities appropriate to the Professor rank.
- Teaches students in the clinical, laboratory and classroom settings.
- Assumes responsibility for the planning and organization of courses to which assigned.
- Provides academic advising/counseling to students.
- Develops improved evaluation techniques for measuring student learning and competency.
- Provides leadership in and participates in the development, implementation and evaluation of School, program, course, and student activities.
- Plans professional development activities for self-such as continuing education offerings, workshops, professional meetings, etc.
- Incorporates new knowledge and techniques in clinical, classroom, and laboratory teaching.
- Provides mentorship to colleagues and students in clinical service role.
- Performs other duties as required.
- Earned Doctorate in Nursing or related field.
- Demonstrated leadership skills related to coordination of teaching activities.
- Effective verbal/written communication skills and proficiency in English language.
- Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum and instructional design and implementation.
- Demonstrated achievement in scholarly and research activities.
- Awareness of current issues/trends in nursing and higher education.

Required Qualifications- Master of Science Degree in Nursing from an accredited university.
- 4 years at the Associate Professor level.
- Experience in Advanced Nursing Practice.
- Maintain state recognition as an Advanced Practice Nurse with national certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
- Licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Texas.
