The School of Music in the College of J.T. & Margaret Talkington College of Visual & Performing Arts at Texas Tech University invites applications for a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track, Assistant Professor of Music Education (Strings) to begin September 1, 2027.
Faculty Qualifications- An earned doctorate in Music Education or a closely related field is required by the start date of the position
- Record of a minimum of 3 years of successful EC-12 public and/or private school teaching experience, or relevant professional experience, as an instrumental (string) music educator
- A research profile that demonstrates emerging or established national/international recognition in music education
In addition to the required qualifications, individuals with the following preferred qualifications are strongly encouraged to apply:
- Successful experience teaching string music education courses in higher education
- Demonstrated experience in community-engaged scholarship through leadership and participation in initiatives such as String Project and after-school programs
- Demonstrated success of solo or/and chamber performances on a string instrument
