PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The Dean, Academic Affairs will be responsible for providing leadership and support to the Office of Instruction as part of the educational environment of the Lone Star College System and community. This position will provide leadership and direction for academic affairs, continuing education, organizational development, strategic planning, institutional effectiveness, program assessment, educational initiatives, grant management, and high school partnerships. The Dean will serve as the principal academic and budgetary officer for his or her respective division within Lone Star College.

This position is empowered with the authority necessary to provide positive leadership regarding academic personnel, curricular, and budgetary decisions that further the academic, programmatic, and scholarly mission of the institution in its service to the community. The Dean of Academic Affairs will also be responsible for campus-wide academic support services and partnership programs that service both students, faculty, and staff.
