K is seeking a Site Lead & RF/EMI Test Manager to lead operations, drive business development, and provide deep subject matter expertise in RF, EMI/EMC, and EMP disciplines at our Lubbock, TX site. This unique role combines leadership and growth responsibilities with hands‑on technical authority in MIL-STD-461 certification, electromagnetic pulse (EMP) research, and anechoic chamber design, installation, and operations.
Roles and Responsibilities- Lead day-to-day site operations, ensuring organizational performance, program success, and alignment with K ’s core values, Zero Harm culture, and Quality Management System.
- Serve as K ’s senior representative in Lubbock, building strong customer and partner relationships with Texas Tech University and the Critical Infrastructure Security Institute, attending conferences, and hosting key stakeholder meetings.
- Champion a culture of growth, innovation, and collaboration, working with Senior Technical Advisors across K to expand site capabilities.
- Design, develop, and oversee advanced RF/EMI/EMC test facilities, programs, processes, and systems to ensure compliance with MIL-STD-461 and related standards.
- Lead pulsed power, radar, microwave systems, directed energy, and EMP (Electromagnetic Pulse) research initiatives and resilience testing, providing technical direction and evaluation of system responses.
- Oversee design, installation, and operations of a local anechoic chamber, including setup, test execution, and analysis of RF/EMI test data.
- Develop and maintain advanced test procedures, debug protocols, and simulation environments; analyze results to validate system performance under electromagnetic conditions.
- Manage and maintain laboratory test equipment, coordinating with external vendors for calibration, upgrades, and repairs.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and technicians, fostering technical growth in RF, EMI/EMC, and EMP disciplines.
- U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related discipline (advanced degree preferred).
- 7+ years of experience in EMI/EMC and RF testing, including MIL-STD-461 certification testing and qualification; demonstrated expertise in EMP analysis, research, and testing; hands‑on experience with anechoic chamber operations and RF/EMI test campaigns.
- Texas Tech University alumni preferred.
- Prior site leadership or program management experience with direct customer interface.
- Experience supporting capture management and proposal development efforts.
- Strong background in technical consultation and collaboration with internal design teams and external customers.
- Familiarity with laboratory management, including equipment lifecycle, calibration, and vendor coordination.
