Loan Officer Assistant – Flat Branch Home Loans
Basic Description
The Loan Officer Assistant will assist and support their Senior Mortgage Banker(s) (SMB) in the origination of residential real estate loans. This support role is critical in facilitating data processing and analyzing documents required to qualify and submit client files to the Operations Department. The candidate will work hand‑in‑hand with the SMB to follow protocol while developing a timely, efficient workflow that maximizes and prioritizes every aspect of origination support activities.
Attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines for each task is imperative.
Responsibilities
- Support and collaborate with all Flat Branch Operations staff (Processing, Underwriting, Closing, Post‑Closing, Shipping and Secondary).
- Establish and implement comprehensive strategies to drive business development, build strong client relationships, and support the Senior Mortgage Banker in building strong realtor and client relationships.
- Manage Total Expert and all of its functions (data entry, campaign facilitation, emails, phone calls, letters and other necessary tasks).
- Create, implement, and manage procedures to maximize team efficiency and provide tools for success (pipeline progression and workflow).
- Gather, analyze, upload, and label all necessary documentation into the Encompass e‑folder.
- Timely follow‑up of critical documents from clients to facilitate a timely closing.
- Perform data entry, facilitate credit pulls, run DU/LP and GUS through the LOS.
- Schedule appointments and organize business‑related gatherings.
- Enhance relationships with clients and strategic referral partners via marketing documents.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 1 year experience with mortgage loans, required.
- Technical proficiency with various software programs, desired.
- Extreme attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
- Self‑starter and self‑motivated.
- Ability to multi‑task.
- Willingness to learn and pick things up in a timely manner.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Occasional travel may be required throughout the year, as needed.
- Organizational skills to juggle tasks and deadlines.
- Experience working with vendors and contractors (preferred).
- Negotiation and budgeting skills.
- Ability to spread company culture to each location.
