Police Officer; Probationary Police Officer

starting salary: $31.202 hourly || $2,496.16 biweekly || $64,900.16 annually

the city of lubbock will begin accepting applications for probationary police officer positions from saturday, may 3, 2025, to friday, september 19, 2025. the probationary police officer entrance exam will be given on saturday, september 27, 2025, at 8:30 a.m. At the lubbock police academy located at 508 davis dr, lubbock, tx 79416, within the reese center. all applicants should plan to arrive at the testing location by 7:45 a.m.

all applications for this exam must be completed online and received by the city of lubbock human resources department by 11:59 p.m. On friday, september 19, 2025. Interested candidates must apply online.

note: when completing the online application, you do not need to complete the following sections: work history, certificates and licenses, skills, and references.

all applicants who wish to receive honorable discharge credit for service in the armed forces of the united states shall provide proof of an "honorable discharge" (e.g., dd form 214 service 2, dd form 214 member 4, or dd form 214 service
7). Discharges with any language other than "honorable discharge" are not acceptable. this proof must be provided by 11:59 p.m. On friday, september 19. Attach proof to your online application titled “your name and dd214” or email it to dd214lpd with “your name and dd214” in the subject line.

applicants must be at least 20 years and 6 months old on the day of the lubbock police entrance exam. If your birthday is after march 27, 2005, you are not eligible for hire.

applicants must pass the entrance exam before taking the physical ability test, scheduled for saturday, september 27, 2025. The eligibility list will be effective from september 27, 2025, through march 27, 2026, unless exhausted earlier.

the physical test is a timed 2000-meter row, scored at 40%. The score is based on age, weight, and gender.
