Lead Sterile Processing Technician – Covenant Medical Center

Providence invites you to join its team as a Lead Sterile Processing Technician at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, TX. This role leads the sanitation, assembly and testing of medical equipment, supplies and instruments, coordinates orders, receives stock, distributes materials, directs technicians and provides departmental oversight in the absence of a supervisor.

• Perform routine maintenance and preparation of instruments, supplies and equipment requiring decontamination and sterilization.
• Coordinate orders, receive stock and distribute materials and supplies within the department.
• Direct technicians in routine duties and assume responsibility for the department in the supervisor’s absence.
• Work variable shifts, including days, evenings, nights and weekends as scheduled.

• Sterile processing class, training or vocational education in a hospital or medical laboratory.
• National Certified Registered Central Service Technician – Healthcare Sterile Processing Association, OR National Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician – Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution, OR National Certified Instrument Specialist – Healthcare Sterile Processing Association.
• Four or more years of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician with emphasis on instrumentation processing and sterilization.
• Two or more years of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician in an acute care center with primary responsibility for instrumentation processing and sterilization.

• Two or more years of Covenant Sterile Processing experience.

• Eligible to work from a commutable distance to the Lubbock office.
