The HR Coordinator supports the day-to-day HR operations of a 160-employee manufacturing facility. This role ensures accurate HR administration, coordinates recruitment and onboarding, supports training and compliance efforts, and serves as an accessible resource for employees and supervisors. The HR Coordinator helps maintain an organized, efficient, and people-focused HR function that supports plant operations and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities 1. General HR Administration- Maintain employee records in HRIS and personnel files (digital and physical), ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Process new hire, status change, and termination documentation.
- Assist with timekeeping corrections, payroll inputs, and attendance tracking.
- Prepare HR reports (headcount, turnover, training records, etc.) for leadership.
- Post job openings, screen applicants, and coordinate interviews with hiring managers.
- Support recruiting for production, skilled trades, and administrative roles.
- Conduct pre‑employment steps (references, background checks, drug screens, etc.).
- Facilitate new‑hire orientation and ensure completion of onboarding paperwork.
- Track probationary periods and follow up with supervisors on evaluations.
- Serve as a first point of contact for employee questions regarding policies, benefits, or procedures.
- Support HR Manager in handling employee relations issues and investigations.
- Promote a positive work environment and encourage open communication.
- Coordinate required safety and HR compliance trainings (OSHA, harassment prevention, equipment training, etc.).
- Maintain up-to-date training logs and certifications for all employees.
- Assist with policy updates and ensure employee handbook distribution and acknowledgements.
- Support workers' compensation documentation and return‑to‑work processes.
- Assist employees with benefit enrollment, changes, and questions.
- Coordinate open enrollment and maintain benefit records.
- Communicate with insurance providers and brokers as needed.
- Support performance review cycles and workforce development initiatives.
- Assist with employee engagement programs, recognition events, and communication efforts.
- Participate in audits (internal, external, and regulatory).
- Recommend process improvements to enhance HR efficiency and compliance.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred.
- 1–3 years of HR experience, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Knowledge of HR fundamentals and employment laws (FMLA, ADA, FLSA, OSHA basics).
- Experience with HRIS and timekeeping systems (ADP, Paycom, Kronos, etc.).
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism.
- Comfortable working on the production floor when needed (training, timekeeping, employee support).
- Fast‑paced manufacturing facility with frequent interaction across shifts.
- Role requires regular on‑site presence and occasional flexibility for shift coverage needs.
