- Unload inbound materials, move to storage locations and stack and store product in the appropriate areas
- Pull and prepare product for shipment and ensure the exact number and type of products ordered are prepared to be checked and loaded
- Perform picking duties in an efficient manner that meets all customer service standards
- Efficiently move product from storage areas to railcars, trailers or to appropriate dock door to be checked and loaded
- Safely and effectively operate powered equipment to load, unload, move, stack and stage product
- Count and check all inbound product, compare to manifest and check all product for damage, infestation and product code dates
- Report shortages and damages on appropriate forms and forward to the supervisor
- Compare the quantity, quality and labeling to the unloader sheet to verify all matches
- Sign for inbound materials once the inbound shipment has been checked and stocked
- Compare the quantity, quality, labeling and address with the customer’s order to ensure outgoing product shipments are complete and correct
- Sign for all outbound product during the checking process to ensure all types of product are present
- Report all shortages and overages on checker error sheet to ensure order accuracy
- Verify and report all non-available product, according to product availability and report to supervisor
- Maintain the facility’s equipment in a neat, clean, orderly fashion
- Report all facility damage and safety violations to a supervisor immediately
- Daily inspection of all equipment operated each day
- Perform all other duties as required by the customer
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to follow work procedures and safety rules
- Ability to read, understand, and follow directions/instructions
- Ability to operator a stand up forklift is necessary
- Forklift certificate or satisfactory completion of a forklift-training program is required within the first 30 days of employment
- Have appropriate hand, eye and foot coordination to properly use material handling equipment
- Ability to move product which may require bending, stretching, stooping, stepping, reaching, and/or lifting that may weigh up to 100 pounds
- Perform assigned duties which may require sitting, standing, walking, or a combination of these throughout the length of the shift
- Ability to mount and dismount forklift frequently in the course of the shift
- Ability to accept supervisory coaching related to performance, work habits and attitude
- Ability to function as a team member and get along with others
