Registered Nurse – Lynaugh Unit
Join Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center Managed Care as a registered nurse in the Fort Stockton Lynaugh Unit. This role is day shift only (5:00 AM – 5:30 PM) with no night shift.
Responsibilities- Deliver direct patient care at the Fort Stockton-Lynaugh Unit.
- Administer medications as ordered, maintaining knowledge of appropriate dosages, reactions, and contraindications.
- Communicate patient data using the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) to support decision‑making.
- Prepare and operate necessary equipment and instruments for examinations, treatments, and procedures.
- Assist in completing required documentation for incoming/outgoing patients, including obtaining accurate patient histories.
- Inspect and monitor equipment; ensure maintenance of patient care areas, equipment and supplies, and medication refrigerator.
- Serve as a relief charge nurse when needed, delegating tasks to lower‑level nursing staff.
- Communicate with physicians or advanced practice providers as needed, report when transferring patients, and notify providers of any significant incidents.
- Current RN License in the State of Texas, or ability to transfer license within 120 days of applying.
- Graduate from an approved accredited nursing program.
- New graduates must pass the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX‑RN) on the first attempt.
- No experience required.
