Registered Nurse – Lynaugh Unit

Join Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center Managed Care as a registered nurse in the Fort Stockton Lynaugh Unit. This role is day shift only (5:00 AM – 5:30 PM) with no night shift.

• Deliver direct patient care at the Fort Stockton-Lynaugh Unit.
• Administer medications as ordered, maintaining knowledge of appropriate dosages, reactions, and contraindications.
• Communicate patient data using the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) to support decision‑making.
• Prepare and operate necessary equipment and instruments for examinations, treatments, and procedures.
• Assist in completing required documentation for incoming/outgoing patients, including obtaining accurate patient histories.
• Inspect and monitor equipment; ensure maintenance of patient care areas, equipment and supplies, and medication refrigerator.
• Serve as a relief charge nurse when needed, delegating tasks to lower‑level nursing staff.
• Communicate with physicians or advanced practice providers as needed, report when transferring patients, and notify providers of any significant incidents.

• Current RN License in the State of Texas, or ability to transfer license within 120 days of applying.
• Graduate from an approved accredited nursing program.
• New graduates must pass the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX‑RN) on the first attempt.
• No experience required.
