Position SummaryProvides clinical supervision to all Caregiver RNs, LVNs, Contract Nurses, and other Nursing staff within assigned areas or territories. Offers ongoing training and support to ensure routine and emergency nursing care meets the highest standards. Works in coordination with the Regional RN Director on company‑wide nursing systems, policies, and procedures, and is accountable for enforcing these systems accurately.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Monitors consumers’ health conditions through medical chart reviews and audits.
- Identifying delays in service.
- Ensuring state guidelines are followed through the delivery of nursing services.
- Ensuring compliance with Caregiver Policy and Procedure.
- Ensuring adequate and appropriate follow‑up to potential citations.
- Monitors the health data of individuals served, coordinating with Area and Regional Directors to ensure nursing staff completes:
- Immediate reporting to supervisor of significant health status changes (acute illness, adverse medication reactions, etc.).
- Immediate reporting of safety or facility problems.
- Delegation as required and in compliance with Board of Nurse Examiners criteria.
- Comprehensive Nursing Assessments (RNAs) and annual reviews on each individual.
- Provision of on‑call nursing services and telephone triage as assigned.
- Timely documentation of medical consultations and laboratory reports.
- Participation in annual recertification surveys, investigations, and follow‑up interventions.
- Attends meetings with corporate directors as assigned.
- Participates in the development and implementation of nursing system restructures.
- Attends industry‑driven conferences as assigned.
- Serves on agency‑wide committees as assigned.
- Completes specific assignments and submits written reports within designated time frames.
- Provides ongoing clinical supervision and support to nursing staff via face‑to‑face meetings, email, text, or phone calls.
- Reviews daily on‑call reports and follows up on critical issues.
- Maintains accurate documentation of chart reviews and audits.
- Communicates with administration staff about open nursing positions.
- Recruits, hires, and trains Area RNs, Lead RNs, and LVNs as needed.
- Provides initial on‑the‑job and EHR training to all nursing personnel.
- Coordinates nursing assignments and caseloads while staying within budget constraints.
- Retrains nursing staff and implements corrective actions.
- Monitors nurse billing rates and mentors nurses on billing standards.
- Reviews NSLs, identifies non‑billable tasks, and corrects billing errors.
- Organizes strategies to maintain and increase nurse billing rates and trains on HCS billing systems.
- Extensive knowledge of accepted nursing practice standards and ability to apply them daily.
- Outstanding communication skills with health professionals and external stakeholders.
- Ability to formulate training objectives and agendas.
- High‑level assessment skills for individuals’ health status.
- Leadership qualities consistent with Caregiver policies at a Director level.
- Sets a professional standard and example for coworkers and supervisions.
- Punctual and regular attendance.
- Adherence to Caregiver policies and procedures.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Valid RN license from the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners (or compliant with NLC).
- Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience.
- 1 year of developmentally disabled (DD) nursing experience.
