PICU RN Job Details

Lubbock, TX 79410 - Healthcare Setting:
Children’s Hospital / Level II Pediatric Trauma Center - Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 11/17/2025 End: 2/16/2026)
- Nursing Shift: Night shifts, 3×12-hour (19:00 07:00)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $2010 – $2160
- Patient Ratios: 1:23

PICU Nurse Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Compact license accepted; must be in hand at submission)
- Minimum 1 year of recent Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) experience
- BLS and PALS certifications required
- Experience with Epic EMR charting system
- Clinical proficiency in:
BiPAP/CPAP, ventilator management, central/implanted line care, continuous sedation, ECMO (preferred), ICP monitoring, ABG interpretation, dysrhythmia management, IV vasopressors, post-cardiac surgery care, suctioning (ETT, NT), and isolation precautions - Ability to float between units and nearby sister facilities
- Two supervisory references covering at least one year within the last three years
- Willingness to work variable weekends and commit to at least 3 of 5 major holidays during the assignment
PICU RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU
- Monitor and manage patients requiring advanced respiratory and cardiac support
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and manage sedation as ordered
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Document patient care accurately using Epic EMR system
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control and isolation protocols
- Float to other units or nearby facilities as needed to support patient care
- Participate in required orientation and complete pre-start/annual training modules
