American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring TX or compact RN license, 1:4 ratios, and telemetry experience.
Details- Short-term acute care hospital setting within the PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown unit, part of a Level II Trauma Center
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- Weekend requirement of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
- Floating between units required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Uses Epic EMR
- Cardiac telemetry monitoring with emergency response capabilities including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Utilizes Rapid Response and Code teams
- Manages IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central and peripheral line care
- Administers cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration) and manages Heparin protocols
- Titrates cardiac and insulin drips
- Performs respiratory care including nasal cannula and oxygen administration
- Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required
- Prior experience with 1:4 patient ratios
- Epic EMR experience required
- Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level II experience preferred
- 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required for consideration
- Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Provide telemetry-based nursing care including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and emergency response within a PCU/Stepdown setting
- Dress code requires solid navy blue scrub attire for licensed nursing staff
- Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
- Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- RTO requests must be submitted upfront during the application process, as post-offer time off requests may not be granted
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius for local acceptance at a lower bill rate
- Former permanent employees may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
- Candidates must disclose any prior work history at a Providence facility, including permanent, travel, or registry/per-diem roles
