Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) RN

Location:

unspecified. This position involves providing specialized care to pediatric patients within a pediatric hospital setting. The role requires flexibility to float between units such as Pediatric Medical/Surgical and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), with an emphasis on managing critically ill children in a fast-paced environment. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center that serves a diverse pediatric patient population.

• Certifications:
  
  BLS, PALs are required.
• Education and Experience:
  
  Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit registered nurse, with current valid licensure (compact license accepted).
• Position Requirements:
  The candidate must have PICU experience, be comfortable with patient ratios of 1:2, and be proficient in a variety of skills including ventilator management, Pediatric Step Down, PICC line management, and airway management, among others.
• Schedule:
  
  Days shift, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Responsibilities include assisting with patient care, managing ventilated patients, monitoring hemodynamics, and performing advanced clinical procedures as needed.
• Additional Information:
  The role involves self-scheduling with the expectation to work three consecutive 12-hour shifts or split shifts weekly. Candidates must be willing to work three of the five major holidays and may be required to float between assigned units and nearby facilities.
