To be considered for this PCU/Telemetry RN travel position, candidates need:

Experience and licensure:

• 2 years of nursing experience, with PCU/step-down and telemetry skills. The job-specific requirement lists 2 years despite generic compliance language mentioning 1 year.
• Valid RN authorization to practice in the assignment state; a compact license must be in hand at submission if using one.
• First-time travelers accepted.
• Prior electronic charting experience required; any system is accepted. The unit uses Epic.
• Community hospital and Level II trauma experience preferred.

Required certifications:

• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS.

Required clinical skills:

• Telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and rapid response/code participation.
• Blood administration, central and peripheral line care.
• Insulin drip titration, heparin protocols, and cardiac/vasoactive drip management.
• Oxygen administration and noninvasive airway management.
• Readiness to care for stroke/TIA, trauma, epilepsy-monitoring, and postoperative neurosurgical patients.

Schedule and flexibility:

• Three 12-hour night shifts, 7 p.m.–7 a.m.
• 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule.
• No call; 48-hour schedules are not approved.
• Must float between units and potentially to nearby sister facilities.
• Must work 3 of 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day.
• Submit all time-off and scheduling requests upfront; more than 7 days requires additional approval.

Submission and compliance:

• Locals within 50 miles are accepted at a lower agency bill rate; confirm candidate pay.
• Former permanent Providence employees must be separated for at least 3 months.
• Disclose all previous Providence assignments/employment, including locations and dates.
• Submit to only one Providence facility at a time.
• Provide 2 references covering 1 year of work within the last 3 years; charge RNs/leads accepted.
• The posting states the facility does not accept Nursys or background-check hits.
• Complete required modules and orientation.

Clarify before accepting: Ratios are described as 1:3–4, but weekend staffing lists 1:5. Drip requirements also list both titration and non-titration, so confirm the unit’s expectations.
