Transportation Supervisor

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in dispatch duties as needed and distribute work assignments as needed

Provide necessary support to ensure warehouse and transportation schedules are attained

Heavy interaction with stores, vendors and warehouse/manufacturing sites

Schedule daily workload and department personnel

Review employee paperwork for accuracy

Maintain necessary documentation and files including production or sales records

Monitor department and individual employee performance; provide feedback and disciplinary action as needed

Perform other duties as requested or required by a higher level of management

Key Requirements:

Ability to manage several tasks simultaneously

Ability to handle heavy phones

Keen attention to detail

Excellent organization skills and logical thinking

Strong verbal and written communications skills

Strong computer skills with knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing

Excellent follow through on daily tasks and projects

Ability to work flexible schedule

Knowledge of DOT laws desired

Excellent organizational skills with a high degree of initiative and flexibility

Strong interpersonal and team building skills

Ability to function as a team member and get along with others

Ability to work at a fast-paced but efficient and controlled manner

Ability to accept supervisory coaching related to performance, work habits and attitude
