Responsibilities- Troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains all Whataburger equipment, including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), cooking, beverage, and refrigeration appliances.
- Communicates continuously and effectively with Maintenance Services Company (MSC) and restaurant leadership.
- Installs equipment following Whataburger security procedures and abides by safety protocols. Reports electrical/mechanical problems and flags potential hazards to the appropriate authorities.
- Responsible for in‑restaurant interior and exterior upkeep, including elementary carpentry and plumbing repairs, and intermediate electrical fixes.
- Documents and conducts quality service that satisfies the work order priority and service level agreement (SLA).
- Informs management about repair progress, agenda and cost estimate for capital works in the particular sector.
- Co‑ordinates with the Zone Lead Technician and Zone Regional Facility Manager to guarantee all operation work orders are achieved.
- Provides ongoing support to restaurant operations 24/7 and keeps the facilities to Whataburger brand standards.
- Assesses and delegates third party vendor tasks when commercially feasible. Reviews and certifies work done by them. Acts as liaison between contractor and restaurant.
- Lowers repair costs linked to equipment by proactively supervising and reorganizing the inbound order items.
- Facilitates changes in the restaurant methods and devices aimed at enhancing customer experience, serviceability and earnings.
- Aligns with the state, federal and PCI regulations.
- Undertakes onboard duties as prescribed.
- High school diploma/GED equivalent or equivalent work experience.
- 1+ years’ field experience in the HVAC and commercial refrigeration (required).
- 1+ years’ work experience in commercial kitchen equipment repair or educational equivalent (required).
- Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Certification or CFC Certification (required).
- HVAC State Certified License (preferred).
- State‑licensed Mechanical Contractor or Journeyman’s license preferred (required in Oklahoma).
- Commercial Food Equipment Service Association (CFESA) Certification (preferred).
- Expected to work the necessary time to satisfactorily fulfill job responsibilities.
- Must be able to report to work timely and as required by operational/business needs.
- Must be able to work a full‑time schedule and work outside of normal business hours when necessary.
- Must be able to travel both locally and long distances (including air travel), to worksites, meeting sites, and other locations.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license, submit to a Motor Vehicle Record that adheres to the Whataburger standards, and maintain current automobile liability at minimum levels in their state of residence.
- Must be able to stand, sit, or kneel for extended periods and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to work on ladders and rooftops.
