GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Performs advanced (senior-level) heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) work. Work involves operation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical and electrical / DDC control systems and components of HVAC equipment including steam and hot water boilers, cooling towers, chillers, fan coil units and air handler units in medium and large buildings. Required to learn and apply the developing technology of microprocessor control systems as they are installed in the different facilities.
Instruct, guide and supervise the work of other HVAC mechanics and contractors while maintaining a work team atmosphere in order to accomplish large and difficult maintenance or repair projects. Works under limited supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
