The Finish Blade Operator levels dirt and stone for finish grade of land and roadways.

• Safely operates blade to achieve the specified finish grade.
• Reads grade stakes and works with grade checker, laser, or GPS to maintain grade.
• Works closely with all crew members using hand signals to coordinate work and ensure safety.
• Performs daily inspection and maintenance and ensures that machine is in safe, proper working order including fluid checks and proper lubrication.
• Reports to shop when equipment needs maintenance and repair.
• Keeps equipment clean and prepares equipment for transport on flatbed when needed.
• Maintains orderliness, cleanliness and safety at job site.
• Follows Supervisor’s instructions closely.
• Effectively handle lifting of various objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Walk, bend, climb, kneel, lift, stretch and sit.
• Work extended hours out of doors in a variety of weather conditions.
• Travel and some Saturday work is required.

• Individuals who work safely and have the courage to speak up if you see unsafe behavior or conditions.
• Understand specifics of blade mechanicals.
• Understand and adhere to the Personal Protection Equipment requirements.
