Licensed Clinical Social Worker

The Condra School is seeking to hire a LCSW. That person will act as a vital link between the home, school, and community, serving as a mental health professional who addresses social, emotional, and behavioral barriers to student learning. They will be expected to provide a wide range of services from direct counseling to system-wide interventions.

The primary goal of this position is to support the holistic well‑being of students so they can succeed academically. This involves working across three tiers of intervention (prevention, early intervention, and intensive support).

• Individual and Group Counseling: Provide therapy sessions for students dealing with issues such as anxiety, stress, trauma, grief, family changes (divorce, domestic violence), and peer conflicts.
• Crisis Intervention: Respond immediately to school-wide crises, individual emergencies, or situations involving suicidal ideation, child abuse, or neglect.
• Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments and social histories to evaluate a student's needs, including diagnosing mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders within their scope of practice.
• Behavioral Interventions: Develop and implement positive behavioral intervention strategies and plans (like Functional Behavioral Assessments or FBAs) in collaboration with school teams.
• Home Visits: Conduct home visits to better understand a student's living situation and familial factors impacting their school performance.

• Resource Navigation: Connect families with essential community resources such as food banks, housing assistance, medical care, mental health agencies, and legal aid.
• Interagency Coordination: Act as the link between the school and outside social service or mental health agencies to coordinate wrap‑around support.
• Special Education Support: Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) and Section 504 meetings to ensure students with disabilities receive appropriate related services and accommodations.
• Advocacy: Advocate for students' needs and rights within the school and community, particularly for at‑risk or vulnerable populations (e.g., homeless or foster students).

• Staff Consultation: Consult with teachers and administrators to provide insights into factors (cultural, societal, economic) affecting student behavior and learning, and offer behavior management strategies.
• Policy Development: Collaborate on school policies related to mental health intervention, crisis management, safety plans, and restorative justice initiatives.
• Professional Development: Provide training and workshops for staff and parents on topics such as trauma‑informed practices, mental health awareness, substance abuse prevention, and cultural competence.

The selected candidate may be asked to obtain credentials required to supervise LCSW & LMSW candidates to provide services within the school.

Job Type: Full‑time
Pay: $55,000 - $65,000 per year
