Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Head Golf Professional to lead our golf operations team with a focus on service excellence, operational efficiency, and professional development.
The Head Golf Professional is responsible for assisting the General Manager in managing all aspects of the golf operation, including staff supervision, guest services, tee sheet and pace-of-play oversight, merchandising, instruction programming, and tournament operations. This is a hands‑on leadership role at a high‑volume facility that provides significant opportunity for career growth within Orion Golf. The Head Golf Professional reports to Andrew Shipman, General Manager and Matt Roberts, PGA Partner - Orion.
Meadowbrook Golf Club, located in Lubbock, TX, is one of the region’s most active and well-regarded public golf facilities. Featuring 36 holes of championship golf, a full‑service practice facility, and a robust calendar of daily‑fee play, outings, leagues, and instruction, Meadowbrook is a flagship facility within the Orion Golf portfolio.

Experience Required- PGA Member in good standing
- 3–5 years of leadership experience in golf operations (Head Professional or First Assistant level)
- Strong interpersonal, team‑building, and communication skills
- Proven success with staff development, tournament coordination, and merchandising
- Experience with POS and tee sheet software platforms
- Detail‑oriented, guest‑focused, and committed to service excellence
- Availability to work weekends, holidays, and peak season schedules
- Lead and manage all daily golf operations including tee time management, staff scheduling, and guest services
- Supervise, train, and mentor professional staff and outside service team
- Oversee tournament operations, leagues, and group outings
- Manage merchandising operations including buying, display, and inventory control
- Support the Director of Instruction with group instruction and player development programming
- Maintain strong relationships with guests, staff, vendors, and ownership
- Ensure high standards for pace of play, course setup, and overall player experience
- Work closely with the General Manager and Orion Golf executive team on planning, budgeting, and programming
