The Ludlow Boys & Girls Club is looking for Group Leaders to work in its Before & After School Program starting in January. The program is an EEC licensed school age childcare program. Interested candidates can apply for either Before School, After School, or both.
Job Title:Group Leader
Salary:$17.00/hour
Hours:Part-time, non-exempt.
Before School: 6:30 – 8:45 AM.
After School: 2:30 – 5:30 PM.
School Age Director
Essential Functions:The Group Leader is responsible for providing supervision, guidance, and programming to children enrolled in our EEC licensed school age programs. Additionally, the Group Leader provides guidance, instruction, and support to Assistant Group Leaders.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide high-yield activities and create an environment that engages youth and promotes priority youth outcomes in academic success, good character & citizenship, and healthy lifestyles.
- Provide positive role modeling to members.
- Maintain a positive attitude at all times.
- Encourage members to participate in a variety of program areas/activities, providing guidance, instruction, and constructive feedback to develop skills.
- Demonstrate leadership to ensure conduct, safety, and development of members.
- Provide positive reinforcement and feedback.
- Monitor and evaluate programs, services, and activities.
- Follow the group schedule and actively participate in all scheduled activities, ensuring transitions are safe and on time.
- Participate in staff meetings to maintain a productive work environment.
- Provide adequate supervision at all times and maintain a safe environment.
- Maintain accurate attendance records.
- Provide first aid as needed and report incidents to the School Age Director in a timely manner.
- Enforce Club rules consistently and fairly.
- May be asked to participate in special programs and/or events.
- Show enthusiasm for all Club programs and activities, greeting youth, families, and adults with enthusiasm and reinforcing honesty, responsibility, fairness, and respect.
- Comply with EEC regulations and staff qualifications.
- Maintain close, daily contact with club staff, members, and supervisors to exchange information, discuss issues, and provide instruction or counseling.
- Maintain contact with external community groups, schools, and parents as needed to resolve problems.
- Education/
Experience:
High School diploma or GED. Must have at least 6 months experience working with children. - Mandatory CPR and First Aid certification within 6 months of hire.
- Experience working with children.
- Knowledge of youth development.
- Ability to motivate youth and manage challenging behaviors.
- Ability to interact with the general public.
- Ability to plan and implement quality programs.
- Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment.
Work environment noise level is moderate to loud in indoor and outdoor settings. General conditions require physical ability to lead and participate in group activities (including swimming, team building, physical games, and activities such as reaching, sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, crouching, squatting, stooping, twisting, and lifting an average of 40 lbs.).
