The Hampden County Sheriff's Office is seeking a caring, dependable per diem Mentor to support individuals as they transition from incarceration back into the community. At our All-Inclusive Support Services (AISS) center in Springfield, mentors help people build confidence, navigate everyday challenges and take positive steps toward a more stable future.

What You'll Do

• Provide one-on-one and small-group mentorship to women and men from throughout Hampden County.
• Offer encouragement, guidance and ongoing community support as individuals work toward their personal goals.
• Transport clients to appointments, meetings and other destinations as needed.
• Help individuals stay connected to the positive progress they've made and move forward with greater confidence and independence.

Schedule:

Per diem; must be available to work any shift as directed

Requirements

• Working knowledge of recovery steps
• Ability to effectively engage, communicate and relate with justice-involved population for reentry and recovery services
• Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft applications
• Must pass annual CORI and RMV checks
• Must possess a valid driver's license
• Must maintain a known and accessible telephone number
• Applicants are subject to background investigation, drug screening and medical clearance
