This contract position is based on-site in Lufkin, offering a chance to contribute to a vital aspect of patient care within the medical practice industry.

As a Locum Gastroenterologist, you will play a crucial role in diagnosing and treating gastrointestinal disorders, providing high-quality patient care while working alongside a dedicated team of healthcare professionals.

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations and assessments of patients with gastrointestinal issues
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
• Perform endoscopic procedures and other diagnostic tests
• Collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care
• Educate patients about their conditions and treatment options
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
• Participate in continuing education and professional development activities
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree
• Active and unrestricted medical license in the state of practice
• Previous experience in Gastroenterology is preferred
• Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Commitment to patient-centered care
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems

Schedule:

MLS 24‑hour call (7a‑7a), specific dates

Setting:
Inpatient only

Patient Volume:
Up to 10 per day

Duties:
Rounding, ER consults, and procedures

Case Types:
Abdominal pain, GI bleed, SBO, food、小bolus, ulceration, gastritis, and some carcinoma diagnoses

Required Procedures:
Standard GI procedures such as endoscopies and colonoscopies, plus ERCP porter.

Support Staff:
Endoscopy-trained GI nursing staff for procedures
