This on-site, contract position offers a unique opportunity for medical professionals to provide high-quality surgical care while enjoying flexible working arrangements.

As a Locum Cardiothoracic Surgeon, you will play a crucial role in our team, focusing on complex surgical procedures and patient care within the cardiothoracic domain. You will work closely with a dedicated team of healthcare professionals to ensure the best outcomes for our patients.

• Perform cardiothoracic surgeries including procedures on the heart, lungs, and chest
• Conduct pre-operative evaluations and post-operative follow-ups
• Collaborate with other medical professionals to develop comprehensive treatment plans
• Provide patient education regarding surgical procedures and recovery
• Monitor patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards
• Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives
• Maintain accurate and thorough medical records

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
• Valid medical license to practice in the state of Texas
• Board certification in Cardiothoracic Surgery
• Experience in a clinical or surgical setting, preferably in cardiothoracic surgery
• Strong surgical skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
• Commitment to patient care and continuous professional development

Schedule:

24-hour call shifts, 7a-7a

Shifts available at multiple facilities

Patient Volume: 10-15 per day, 100 total per year

Duties:
Primarily inpatient surgical coverage for ED and referred elective cases

Caseload:
Full-scope CV surgery

Clinic EMR:
Cerner McKesson Cardiology

Hospital EMR:
Paragon

Must be board-certified or board-eligible
