Job SummaryThe Inventory Receiver is responsible for executing all inbound and outbound logistics operations within the door mill warehouse. This role plays a critical part in maintaining inventory accuracy, supporting production and sales teams, and ensuring timely and professional handling of millwork products. Reporting directly to the Inventory Manager, the associate ensures that receiving and shipping procedures are followed in alignment with company-wide inventory control standards.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate reliability, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of millwork and building materials handling.
This position will be treated as an apprentice for our door manufacturing, as well as a fill in non-CDL driver as needed. The chosen candidate must be able to pass a MVR.
Key ResponsibilitiesReceiving Operations:
Unload and inspect incoming shipments of millwork and building materials. Verify product quality, quantity, and accuracy against purchase orders and delivery documentation.
Shipping Operations:
Prepare and stage outgoing shipments, ensuring proper packaging, labeling, and documentation. Coordinate with delivery and sales teams to meet customer expectations.
Inventory Control Support:
Accurately record received and shipped items in inventory systems. Report discrepancies, damaged goods, or missing items to the Inventory Manager and assist in cycle count and shrink reduction efforts.
Material Handling & Equipment Operation:
Safely operate forklifts and other material‑handling equipment to move, stage, and store products. Ensure proper handling of doors, trim, and other millwork items.
Warehouse Organization & Tagging:
Maintain organized storage areas and ensure all products are properly tagged and located. Support product visibility and accessibility for production and fulfillment teams.
Cross‑Functional
Collaboration:
Work closely with the Inventory Manager, production team, and sales staff to ensure product availability and readiness for customer orders.
Safety & Compliance:
Follow all company safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized warehouse environment. Ensure compliance with equipment operation standards and workplace safety procedures.
Process Accountability:
Execute shipping and receiving tasks as defined by the Inventory Manager. Maintain high standards of accuracy, timeliness, and professionalism in all warehouse activities.
QualificationsExperience:
Prior experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations, preferably within the millwork or lumber and building materials industry.
Skills:
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently. Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
Technical Proficiency:
Familiarity with inventory systems and basic computer skills. Experience with ERP tools and point‑of‑sale systems is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and move heavy materials (up to 75 lbs) and work in warehouse environments.
