Travel RN - Rehab - In Patient

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Inpatient Rehab/Ortho unit, requiring a TX or compact RN license and prior ortho/telemetry experience.

• Active TX or Compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Ortho experience preferred
• Experience with telemetry, IVs, foley catheters, and dressing changes required
• Basic rhythm course completion required for tele strip review
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including employment dates and rehire eligibility

• Acute care setting in the Inpatient Rehab/Ortho unit (Calder
  1)
• Telemetry unit type with 9 Ortho beds and 13 Inpatient Rehab beds
• May be assigned IRF patients if Med Surg census does not support staffing needs
• Patient ratios of 1:4 (Med Surg) and 1:6 (IRF), adjusted based on acuity
• Common diagnoses include total knees, hips, shoulders, CVAs, encephalopathy, and lumbar fusions, as well as clean medical-surgical patients
• Uses Paragon EMR charting system
• 12-hour night shifts (7p-7a) with every other weekend required
• Holidays are rotated among staff
• Floating required to other Med Surg units with similar staffing ratios
• No call or standby requirements; may float within the facility during low census
• Work alongside a charge nurse on each shift who also carries a patient assignment
• PCTs assist with ADL care and vital signs on night shifts, with nursing staff providing primary care as needed
• Respiratory Therapy manages nebulizer treatments and CPAP setup
• Monitor techs track telemetry remotely and alert RNs to rhythm variations
• Orientation includes three days of classroom training followed by two precepted shifts on the floor
• Navy blue scrubs required; not provided by the facility
• Candidates may not have been directly employed by any Common Spirit-affiliated facility, including CHI or Dignity, within the past year
• First-time travelers may be considered for this position
