American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele night shift position requiring a TX or compact RN license and the ability to read telemetry strips.

• Acute care setting in a 24-bed Med/Surg Telemetry unit
• Patient-to-nurse ratio of 6:1 with PCT support at 12:1
• Common diagnoses include CHF, diabetes, pneumonia, and CKD
• Tele monitor techs monitor patients but RNs must be able to read telemetry strips
• Patients on CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow oxygen therapy
• Uses Paragon EMR system
• Night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts and every other weekend required
• Scheduling managed by unit manager; block scheduling cannot be guaranteed
• Required to float to all Med/Surg and Telemetry units

• Active TX or compact RN license required, pending licenses not accepted
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Strong communication and time management skills required
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips required
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including dates of employment and rehire eligibility

• Charge nurses, house supervisors, and nurse educators available on the unit
• Department and unit-specific orientation provided, covering all Med/Surg Tele units in the tower
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Holiday coverage required
• Candidates may not have been directly employed by any Common Spirit-associated facility, including CHI and Dignity, within the past year
