Architecture & Product Lead (100%) About City Pop

At City Pop, our product is at the core of everything we do. Every apartment, every building, and every guest experience reflects our vision of modern, efficient, and design-driven urban living. As we grow across Switzerland and Europe, we’re looking for a leader to define, develop, and safeguard the City Pop product in all our markets.

The Role - On-site with travel across Europe

As our Architecture & Product Lead, you will own the complete product lifecycle — from concept development and architectural standards to construction oversight, technical specifications, FF&E implementation, and continuous product improvement.

You will lead a multidisciplinary team of architects, interior designers, furniture & procurement specialists, and technical experts, ensuring every project meets the highest standards of design, functionality, operational efficiency, and profitability. Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with Business Development, Operations, Expansion, and external partners across Europe, you will make sure City Pop properties are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with our long‑term brand vision.

This is a strategic and hands‑on leadership role — combining architecture, design, technical expertise, project delivery, and product innovation.

What You’ll Do
  • Product Strategy & Standards — Define and evolve City Pop’s product vision, design philosophy, and architectural standards; own the Product & Design Playbook and drive innovation in layouts, materials, technology, sustainability, and guest experience.
  • Team Leadership — Lead, mentor, and grow the Architecture, Design, Furniture & Procurement, and Technical teams, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Architecture & Design Management — Oversee all architectural and design activities from feasibility through completion; coordinate external architects, consultants, and engineers; ensure design intent is translated into the final built product.
  • Construction & Quality Control — Oversee construction quality across all projects through site visits and audits; manage risks, timelines, handovers, and post‑completion reviews.
  • Technical & Engineering Oversight — Define technical standards, review engineering solutions, and ensure optimal building performance, durability, and operational efficiency.
  • FF&E & Procurement — Supervise FF&E strategy and procurement, approve supplier selection, and build strategic supplier relationships across Europe.
  • Budget & Performance — Manage departmental budgets, support feasibility studies and cost evaluations, and track KPIs on quality, delivery, budget, and guest satisfaction.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration — Act as the internal expert and decision‑maker for all product‑related matters, supporting expansion into new markets while preserving brand consistency.
What You Bring
  • Master’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Interior Architecture, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in architecture, hospitality, residential, or real‑estate development projects
  • 3+ years of experience managing multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong command of English, plus German or Italian
  • Deep understanding of architecture, construction, technical building systems, FF&E, and project delivery
  • Proficiency in ArchiCAD, BIM, AutoCAD
    , and project management tools
  • An entrepreneurial mindset with a hands‑on, proactive approach and a strong sense of ownership
  • Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and budget/cost‑control skills
  • A dynamic, ambitious, and adaptable personality — stress‑resistant and driven by growth and results
  • Willingness to travel across Europe as required
  • A good sense of humor, a friendly attitude — and the makings of City Pop’s biggest fan, always ready for new challenges
