We are looking for an IT System Engineer – Workload Automation & Managed File Transfer to join an important technology environment.
The selected candidate will become part of a team responsible for the management, monitoring, and evolution of enterprise Workload Automation / Job Scheduling and Managed File Transfer (MFT) platforms.
The role offers an interesting combination of day‑to‑day operational activities and engineering, automation, and platform evolution activities, with an indicative split as follows:
- :50% operational activities: ticket, job, workflow, and batch management; monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident management;
- :50% engineering activities: automation, scripting, integrations, upgrades, migrations, and platform evolution.
- Manage tickets, jobs, workflows, and batch processes on Broadcom Automic Automation (UC4) and the company’s MFT platform.
- Monitor platforms and processes, performing troubleshooting, incident management, and root cause analysis.
- Manage file transfer protocols and security‑related aspects, including SFTP, FTPS, HTTPS, SSH, SSL/TLS, digital certificates, and PGP/GPG.
- Develop and maintain automations, scripts, and integrations between schedulers, MFT platforms, and application systems.
- Participate in upgrade, migration, and new platform and technology implementation projects.
- Support audit and compliance activities, including requirements related to PCI DSS and FINMA guidelines, within the relevant scope of responsibility.
- Produce and maintain up‑to‑date technical and operational documentation.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and Security teams, as well as external vendors.
- Experience in System Engineering, Infrastructure, Automation, or Middleware.
- Good knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Experience with Workload Automation / Job Scheduling platforms, preferably Broadcom Automic Automation (UC4), or alternatively Control‑M, IBM Workload Scheduler, or equivalent solutions.
- Experience and/or knowledge of Managed File Transfer (MFT) platforms such as Primeur Data One, Go Anywhere, Axway, IBM Sterling, MOVEit, or equivalent solutions.
- Knowledge of secure transfer protocols and related security mechanisms, including SFTP, FTPS, HTTPS, SSH, SSL/TLS, digital certificates, and PGP/GPG.
- Experience with scripting and automation using Bash, Python, and/or Power Shell.
Knowledge of both Workload Automation / Job Scheduling and Managed File Transfer environments is considered a significant advantage.
Preferred SkillsExperience or knowledge of the following technologies will be considered an advantage:
- REST APIs;
- SQL;
- Jenkins;
- Ansible;
- Splunk;
- Dynatrace;
- Jira;
- Confluence.
- Ability to work on cross‑functional IT projects, from requirements gathering through to production deployment.
- Ability to independently manage tasks and priorities.
- Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Accuracy, reliability, and attention to detail.
- Strong aptitude for technical documentation.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with infrastructure, application, Security teams, and external vendors.
- Education:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent university degree. - Required experience:
- Mid-level: 3–5 years of experience;
- Senior: 6+ years of experience.
