Responsibilities
  • Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership procedures and protocols.
  • Assist Service Advisor in test‑driving vehicles and testing components and systems; use diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
  • Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
  • Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers are informed if any additional service is needed; provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs.
  • Execute warranty repairs to manufacturer specifications.
Qualifications
  • Ability to identify the problem quickly.
  • Good knowledge of automobiles.
  • Effective analytical and communication skills.
  • Good reading, computer, and mathematics skills.
  • Ability to learn new technology and repair and service procedures and specifications.
  • Ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Technical degree preferred.
  • ASE certifications preferred.
