Printing Manager – Job Description

Responsibilities- Lead the printing department, ensuring safety, quality, productivity, equipment condition, and housekeeping.
- Manage long‑term departmental goals, provide training to supervisors, and oversee scheduling, material handling, maintenance, and production problem resolution.
- Act as a communication bridge between direct reports and upper management.
- Maintain a safe work environment, develop and implement safety procedures, and collaborate with the Safety Coordinator to achieve departmental and plant safety goals.
- Ensure quality standards are met using SPC techniques; provide product training and continuous improvement.
- Maintain production efficiencies and overall productivity, meeting or exceeding set standards, and manage expenditures within budget limits.
- Assist the team with technical issues, ensuring professional testing and product development.
- Coordinate with other department managers to resolve cross‑functional issues and support organizational objectives.
- Demonstrated leadership with exceptional communication, organization, and motivational skills.
- Production experience in finishing is required; additional education is a plus.
- Quality‑conscious and customer‑oriented.
- Preferably a four‑year college degree with direct experience in the folding carton industry.
- Compensatory work experience may substitute for a degree.

- Standard 8‑hour Monday‑Friday schedule with flexibility for alternate shifts (early mornings, nights, weekends).
- Occasional overnight travel (flight, drive, rail).

- Reading on computer screens or other electronic devices.
- Use of office hand and electrical tools.
