We are seeking a hands-on Production Supervisor to lead daily operations on our manufacturing floor. This role is responsible for driving safety, quality, efficiency, and on-time delivery while developing a strong production team.
The right candidate is a floor leader — someone who enjoys being where the work happens, solving problems in real time, coaching employees, and improving how things get made.
What You'll Do:- Supervise and coordinate daily production activities to meet schedule, cost, and quality objectives
- Assign work and manage staffing to hit production targets
- Monitor output and productivity; take action when goals are at risk
- Review production, quality, and maintenance reports to identify causes of nonconformance or operational issues
- Develop and implement operating methods that eliminate problems and improve product quality
- Communicate daily priorities and expectations clearly to production teams
- Lead, coach, and develop production employees
- Conduct training and cross-training to build team capability
- Monitor attendance and performance; address issues as they arise
- Foster accountability, teamwork, and a positive work environment
- Enforce all safety policies and procedures
- Conduct daily safety observations and toolbox talks
- Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions
- Ensure OSHA and company regulations are followed
- Ensure products meet customer and company standards
- Partner with Quality and Customer Service to resolve issues
- Monitor defects and drive corrective actions
- Promote a "right first time" culture
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, and material utilization
- Reduce waste, downtime, and rework
- Support Lean Manufacturing and process improvement initiatives
- Participate in cycle counts and inventory accuracy programs
- Collaborate with Shipping, Receiving, Purchasing, Inventory Control, Maintenance, and Customer Service
- Ensure materials, labor, and equipment are available to meet customer requirements
- Communicate production status and challenges proactively
Required
- High school diploma or GED
- 3+ years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Experience with production scheduling and workflow management
- Ability to analyze production data and solve operational problems
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP systems
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Education in Manufacturing, Industrial Management, or Engineering
- Maintenance experience, including electrical
- Experience in textile, packaging, converting, printing, sewing, or industrial manufacturing environments
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, or Continuous Improvement programs
- Knowledge of inventory control and cycle counting processes
- Ability to stand and walk throughout the shift
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and noise levels
