Shop Hand​/General Shop Laborer

1st Choice Towing & Recovery is looking for a dependable, hardworking Shop Hand / General Laborer to join our team.

This is a hands-on position helping with the daily operation and upkeep of our towing and repair shop. We need someone who is willing to work, stay productive, help our mechanics when needed, and take pride in keeping the shop and property clean and organized.

We are looking for someone who can see what needs to be done and take care of it without having to be constantly reminded.

• Assist mechanics and technicians with general tasks as needed

• Help move and organize tools, parts, tires, equipment, and supplies

• Sweep and mop shop and work areas

• Empty trash and keep trash cans maintained

• Clean and maintain bathrooms

• Keep the shop floor clean and organized

• Keep the yard and outside work areas clean and tidy

• Pick up trash, parts, scrap, and debris around the property

• Mow grass and weed eat as needed

• Help organize shop supplies and inventory

• Assist with cleaning trucks, vehicles, equipment, and work areas as needed

• Perform basic property and shop maintenance

• Help with other general duties as assigned

• Follow shop safety procedures while working around vehicles, tow trucks, tools, and equipment

• Willing to get dirty and perform physical work

• Able to work around an active towing and repair shop

• Able to work well with mechanics, drivers, and other employees

• Willing to learn and take on additional responsibilities

Previous experience in a mechanic shop, towing company, landscaping, maintenance, construction, or general labor is helpful but not required.

Monday through Friday
8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Regular attendance, punctuality, and dependability are important for this position.

Pay will depend on experience, abilities, work ethic, dependability, and the responsibilities the employee is able to handle.
