- Operate radiographic equipment to produce radiographs of the body for diagnostic purposes, as directed by the ER Physician by the Radiologist accepted protocol.
- Position patients and examination tables to obtain optimum views of the specified body area.
- Practice radiation safety techniques with the ALARA principle, using beam restrictive devices and patient shielding skills to maximize protection for patients and staff.
- Operate CT SCAN equipment to produce CT scans of the body for diagnostic purposes, as directed by the ER Physician in accordance with Radiologist protocol.
- Administer and obtain consent for contrast (IV and oral), and monitor for possible reactions and side effects.
- Complete appropriate paperwork and ensure proper documentation in patients’ charts.
- Maintain patient safety and obtain diagnostically acceptable exam quality.
- Maintain current knowledge of Diagnostic Radiology/CT procedures and equipment functioning; assist with minor repairs or troubleshooting as needed.
- Adhere to safety precautions to minimize radiation exposure to patients, staff, and self.
- Utilize appropriate body mechanics when moving or lifting patients and equipment.
- Communicate problems or concerns to appropriate personnel and coordinate safe patient transportation as needed.
- Graduate of an accredited approved school of Radiologic Technology
- At least 1 year of radiologic/imaging experience and CT experience
- Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Current State licensure
- Current BCLS Certification
