The 360 Excavator Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of excavators to support a wide range of civil engineering activities, including excavation, lifting, demolition and material handling. Working closely with site teams, the role ensures works are completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards, while maintaining full compliance with Company Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) policies and procedures.

OverviewThe 360 Excavator Operator plays a key role in supporting the successful delivery of civil engineering projects by providing skilled plant operation across a range of site activities. The role requires a strong commitment to safety, teamwork and quality, ensuring work is carried out efficiently, professionally and in line with project programmes and Company standards.
Key Responsibilities- Safe and efficient operation of 360‑degree excavators to carry out excavation, demolition, lifting and material handling activities.
- Carry out daily pre‑start checks and routine inspections, reporting any defects or maintenance requirements promptly.
- Undertake digging, trenching, back filling, grading and loading operations in line with site requirements and specifications.
- Carry out lifting operations in accordance with lifting plans and relevant safety procedures where applicable.
- Work closely with site supervisors, engineers and ground teams to ensure works are delivered in line with the construction programme.
- Follow all site‑specific method statements, risk assessments and traffic management plans.
- Maintain good housekeeping of plant and working areas, ensuring equipment is kept in safe working condition.
- Support wider site operations as required to assist with project delivery.
- Be aware of all Company Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) policies, procedures and management systems and ensure their application as they relate to areas of responsibility.
- Attend training and development activities in person or via eLearning as required.
- Undertake any such duties as may reasonably be ascribed to the role from time to time.
- Valid CPCS or NPORS (with CPCS hologram) card for relevant plant category.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Proven experience operating 360 Excavators within a civil engineering environment.
- Strong work ethic, reliability and ability to work as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work across multiple sites throughout Scotland.
