Role Description The Assistant Project Manager with an estimating or quantity surveying (QS) background will support the delivery of residential and commercial construction projects from pre-construction through completion. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Lurgan. Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting with cost estimates and budgets, preparing and reviewing bills of quantities, monitoring project progress, and supporting the coordination of subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams.
The role involves helping to manage project schedules, tracking materials and logistics, reviewing drawings and specifications, and ensuring that quality, safety, and compliance standards are maintained. The Assistant Project Manager will also contribute to client communication, documentation, reporting, and the resolution of site issues to keep projects on time and within budget.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess project coordination and project management skills, with the ability to support planning, scheduling, and delivery of construction projects.
- Candidates should possess expeditor and expediting skills to track materials, follow up on orders, and ensure timely delivery of supplies and equipment.
- Candidates should possess logistics management skills to help organize site deliveries, storage, and resource allocation across multiple projects.
- Candidates should possess inspection and quality control skills to assist in monitoring workmanship, materials, and compliance with specifications and regulations.
- Relevant experience or education in construction, estimating, or quantity surveying (e.g., QS degree, construction management diploma, or equivalent) would be beneficial.
- Strong numerical, analytical, and MS Office skills (especially Excel) would be beneficial.
- Effective communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive and organized approach to on-site work, would be beneficial.
- A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel between project sites, as required, would be beneficial.
