Accounting Manager

Chesapeake Search Partners is exclusively partnering with a growing organization to identify an Accounting Manager to join their team. This is a hands‑on role focused on daily accounting operations, accurate financial reporting, and supporting both finance and operations.

• Manage daily accounting activity including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
• Oversee month‑end close and assist with preparing monthly financial statements
• Maintain balance sheet schedules and ensure general ledger accuracy
• Review and reconcile cash activity, bank statements, and merchant deposits
• Support AP and AR as needed, including invoice review, payments, and cash application
• Ensure timely and accurate multi‑state sales tax filings
• Partner with operations to resolve coding questions and reconcile unit‑level transactions
• Assist with variance analysis, budgeting, and audit documentation
• Maintain internal controls, update procedures, and identify process improvements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5 to 8+ years of hands‑on accounting experience including general ledger, reconciliations, and month‑end close
• Strong knowledge of journal entries, sales tax, and cash/merchant reconciliations
• Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with large or complex datasets
• Ability to explain accounting concepts to non‑finance teams
• Detail‑oriented, organized, and able to manage a steady flow of daily tasks
