Gloucestershire Hospital Education Service (GHES) is seeking to appoint an organised, proactive and highly motivated SEN Administrative Coordinator to join our dedicated support team.
This is a specialist administrative role that plays a vital part in ensuring children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) receive the support they need to succeed. Working closely with the SENCo, SEN Pastoral Leads, families, schools and Local Authority teams, you will coordinate a range of SEND processes, including Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) reviews and Exam Access Arrangements.
You will be responsible for managing complex administrative processes, organising multi‑agency meetings, liaising with stakeholders, maintaining accurate records and ensuring statutory deadlines are met. The role requires excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Working hours:
Monday to Friday, approximately 8.00am–4.00pm
Contract:
37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (term time plus INSET days)
GHES provides short‑term education for children and young people whilst they are too ill to attend their main school.

Ideally, you will have:
- Experience of working within a school or similar educational environment.
- Knowledge of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
- Experience of EHCP annual review processes and SEND administration.
- Experience of SIMS and Microsoft Office applications.
- An understanding of statutory SEND processes and current guidance.
- Experience of coordinating complex administrative processes involving multiple stakeholders
The successful candidate will:
- Coordinate the annual review process for EHCPs across the service.
- Organise and support SEND‑related meetings, including preparing documentation and taking minutes.
- Work closely with families and professionals to ensure timely and effective communication.
- Liaise with Local Authority SEND teams regarding EHCP processes and requests.
- Support the completion and submission of SEND documentation and reports.
- Coordinate exam access arrangements for learners, ensuring compliance with awarding body regulations.
