This role provides proactive and efficient administrative support to the Safeguarding Team. The post holder will be expected to work independently, using their own initiative to plan, prioritise, and manage a variety of tasks to meet deadlines effectively.

  • To co-ordinate and provide a full range of administrative support to the Corporate Safeguarding Team.
  • To utilise a range of computer packages, including Word, Excel, Outlook email and the internet as well as in-house systems as required.
  • To communicate administrative information to a wide range of health service and internal and external staff, liaising effectively with partner agencies such as Police, social services and education as appropriate.
  • To successfully use/manage electronic mail for self and Corporate Safeguarding Team as appropriate, setting up new files on systems as and when necessary
  • To arrange meetings, liaising with professionals and their support staff from within the local health and partner agencies, booking venues and arranging refreshments as required.
  • Manage communications (post, telephone calls and e-mails) into the Corporate Safeguarding Team, bringing urgent business to the attention of the specialist nursing and midwifery team members.
  • To carry out routine clerical tasks including photocopying and filing of all information, settling up new systems as necessary.
  • To manage the systems and databases required to collate data for the Corporate Safeguarding Team. To participate in producing the statistics collected into quarterly and annual reports.
  • Management of multiple email inboxes.

The role also involves handling sensitive information related to child safeguarding on a daily basis, requiring discretion and a strong understanding of confidentiality.
