This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to gain commercial experience supporting a variety of bids and long‑term contracts for key programmes, products and customers.

The Leonardo Business Apprenticeship is structured around a programme of placements that will see you move around the business over a 3.5 year period designed to give you as much experience of an international business environment as possible. For the first two years you will rotate through placements including Procurement, Commercial, Sales, Project Management, Finance and Human Resources. You will gain skills and knowledge to deliver complex projects, utilising strong internal and external customer‑facing skills to support project execution within the Electronics line of business.

In the third year you will move back into Procurement for your final placement.

You will also attend university on a day release basis to complete your Chartered Manager Apprenticeship (ST0272) which includes a BA (Hons) Business and Management degree. Through your work placements you will record learning activities and evidence to meet competency criteria and, in your final placement, complete a project that forms part of your degree.

During your apprenticeship you will:

• Grow your knowledge of an engineering business and support roles by being part of Integrated Project Teams.
• Develop key business support skills, understanding key processes and technologies.
• Support early careers activities – apprentices have the opportunity to work as STEM ambassadors in schools, colleges and universities.

• 104 UCAS points from A'Level or BTEC Extended Diploma in Business Related Subjects plus 5 GCSE grades 4‑9 or A*‑C (including Maths and English).
• Understanding of basic business finance, contract law and its application.
• Ability to build effective relationships with cross‑functional colleagues, customers and suppliers.
• Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proactive, tenacious, results‑driven.
• Desire to learn and improve.

£21,525. Throughout the apprenticeship we encourage at least 3–4 days a week on site.
