Position: Senior Contract Surveyor
Summary
We’re looking for a Senior Contract Surveyor to lead commercial management activities on a major construction scheme, ensuring robust cost control and contractual compliance throughout the project lifecycle. This role is ideal for an experienced professional with strong negotiation skills and a proven ability to manage complex packages effectively.

Client Overview
Our client is a well-established construction organisation delivering technically demanding projects across multiple sectors, with a consistent focus on quality and integrity.

Responsibilities
Take ownership of commercial and contractual management across multiple work packages
Prepare and negotiate subcontract agreements, variations, and claims
Produce detailed cost reports, forecasts, and cash flow projections
Monitor and control project costs against budget, identifying potential risks and opportunities
Oversee valuations, progress payments, and final account settlements
Ensure strict compliance with contractual terms and relevant legislation
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior surveyors within the commercial team

Must-have Requirements
Extensive experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Contract Surveyor, ideally in a senior capacity
Proven track record in managing financial and contractual aspects of large-scale projects
Working knowledge of NEC and JCT contract forms
Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on risk management
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
