We are currently looking for an experienced Surfacing Supervisor / Foreman to join our team working on planned term maintenance schemes across Luton.
The role will primarily involve night-time working, supervising highways surfacing operations and ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required standards.
The initial contract will run for 6 weeks, starting on 14th September, with the opportunity for long-term work available for the right candidate if both parties are happy with the arrangement.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and coordinate highways surfacing gangs on site.
- Ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and to the required specification.
- Manage operatives, plant and materials on site.
- Liaise with site management, clients and other contractors where required.
- Ensure all works comply with health & safety requirements and site procedures.
- Monitor quality and progress of surfacing works.
- Assist with resolving any issues that arise during the shift.
- Complete relevant site documentation and records.
- Proven experience as a Surfacing Supervisor, Foreman or similar role.
- Strong experience within highways surfacing is essential.
- Good understanding of highways maintenance and surfacing operations.
- SMSTS/ SSSTS and CSCS
- Ability to manage and lead a surfacing team.
- Strong commitment to health, safety and quality.
- Reliable and comfortable working predominantly night shifts.
- Relevant highways/surfacing qualifications and tickets are desirable.
