Saturday Club Coordinator
To coordinate and deliver Saturday Club sessions for children aged 4‑11 with additional needs and disabilities, ensuring a safe, engaging and supportive environment. The role includes session delivery, staff supervision, communication with families, and ensuring high standards of safeguarding and care.
Schedule: 20 Saturday sessions per year, 7.5 hours per session (9:00 am–5:00 pm).
Main Duties and Responsibilities- Service Delivery & Coordination
- Coordinate and supervise sessional support staff and volunteers during Saturday Club.
- Allocate staff appropriately to children and lead team briefings at the beginning and end of each session.
- Plan and organise all club activities, workshops and rotas within agreed budgets.
- Source and purchase equipment and materials as needed.
- Provide risk assessments for all activities.
- Oversee behaviour management, offering guidance on strategies for behaviours that challenge.
- Ensure safe and respectful delivery of personal and intimate care.
- Oversee support for children with medical needs, ensuring procedures are followed correctly.
- Staff Management
- Recommend pay rates for sessional staff in line with established pay scales.
- Carry out regular staff appraisals.
- Ensure staff comply with safeguarding policies and understand their responsibilities.
- Act as first point of contact for staff concerns, including safeguarding issues.
- Identify training needs and make recommendations to management.
- Family Support, Communication & Administration
- Act as first point of contact for families enquiring about junior respite services.
- Conduct induction meetings with new children and their parents/carers, gathering all required information.
- Write and update child profiles and care plans, ensuring staff are fully briefed.
- Communicate effectively with parents/carers by phone, email and in person.
- Build strong relationships between support staff and families.
- Produce written session summaries, evaluations and action plans.
- Provide case studies for funders when required.
- A satisfactory Enhanced DBS Check
- Two satisfactory references (one from the most recent employer or place of study)
- Completion of three online training courses prior to starting
- An excellent standard of written and spoken English
