Mon, Tue, Thurs & Fri – 8.55am – 3.25pm
Wed – 8.55am – 3.55pm
Term time plus an additional 5 days for INSET.
ResponsibilitiesTeaching Assistants are involved in INSET days and after‑school workshops to equip and train staff to work in our specialist setting.
They are part of a class team to support pupils to access our specialist curriculum and enable pupils to progress in areas such as communication, independence, wellbeing, movement, cognition and learning.
Teaching Assistants are expected to support pool‑based lessons, requiring water competency and confidence rather than swimming skills.
QualificationsKnowledge of a range of special needs is useful; a comprehensive induction and training programme is provided.
Experience with pupils with special needs is favoured, but willingness to learn and a clear identification with the school’s values is required.
Applicants must be able to converse and provide effective help or advice, fluently in spoken English.

Because of the nature of this job, an enhanced DBS check will be undertaken. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act; all unspent and relevant spent convictions must be declared. Failure to disclose may result in dismissal or disciplinary action.
