The position operates within a multidisciplinary engineering environment and supports the delivery of integrated, high-reliability systems for defence or similarly regulated applications.

Role

The Electronics Engineer will be responsible for hands-on hardware development activities from schematic design through board bring-up, debug, and verification. The role requires close collaboration with PCB layout, FPGA, firmware, mechanical, and systems engineering teams, as well as on-site laboratory work.

Responsibilities
  • Design, bring up, and verify electronic hardware, including high-speed digital and power electronics.
  • Debug complex hardware issues using schematics, laboratory test equipment, FPGA command-line tools, and structured fault-finding techniques.
  • Support and guide PCB layout engineers, providing input on high-speed design, impedance-controlled routing, and signal integrity considerations.
  • Collaborate proactively with multidisciplinary Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), including mechanical, firmware, FPGA, and systems engineering, to resolve technical issues and deliver fully integrated solutions.
Required experience
  • Strong experience in digital electronics and power electronics design.
  • Proven hands-on experience with board bring-up, laboratory debugging, and hardware test activities.
  • Experience debugging FPGA-based circuits and board-level issues using command-line or prompt-based FPGA interaction tools.
  • Experience working on high-speed designs up to approximately 5 GHz.
  • Experience diagnosing and resolving hardware faults using limited information, schematics, PCB layout data, and test equipment.
