Overview

As a Director Engineering R&D here at Honeywell you will play a critical role in leading and managing the engineering function within the Water Metering Business. You will be responsible for providing strategic direction, technical leadership and operational oversight to the engineering teams, driving innovation, ensuring product quality and achieving business objectives.

You will report directly to our Sr. Director Engineering R&D and you’ll work out of our Dublin Ireland location on a Hybrid work schedule.

In this role you will impact the company’s ability to drive innovation, deliver high-quality products and achieve business objectives, contributing to the success, reputation and growth in the industry.

Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to the engineering function.
  • Oversee the planning, execution and delivery of engineering projects related to water metering.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to drive innovation and achieve business objectives.
Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering or mathematics.
  • Experience in engineering leadership roles, particularly in R&D; with the water metering or related industry experience being an additional positive. Additionally, experience with managing remote teams is paramount as the direct reports for this position will be located in the UK.
  • Strong technical expertise in engineering disciplines relevant to water metering and R&D, including the design and manufacture of PCBs, mechanical enclosures, RF radios (particularly CATM/NBIoT and LoRa as well as other sub-GHz communications) and, if possible, ultrasonic technologies in high-volume products.
  • Proven track record of successful project execution and delivery in a technology-driven environment, including planning, design, development, testing, validation, certification and assistance in high-volume production stand-up of electronic products.
  • Experience with engineering best practices, quality standards and regulatory requirements; preferably specific to water metering.
