Our client, a leading EPC, is looking for a Substation Engineer to work across a number of projects in their portfolio.
Ideal Candidate- UK Transmission Experience
- Previous experience with SSE, Grid or Scottish Power highly desirable
- Primary Design experience
- Experience in reviewing design deliverables and substation layouts.
- Degree qualified electrical engineer required
- Previous Transmission experience required
- A minimum of 3+ years substation project engineer experience up to 400kV
- Proven experience in high‑voltage substation design, operation, and maintenance
- Proficiency in project management
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations
- Creating outline scope, site location plans, primary plant layout and Single Line Diagrams for new build and asset replacement type projects, operating up to 400kV
- Reviewing contractor/consultant detailed designs and witnessing Factory Acceptance Testing
- Implementing safety by design principles to ensure that engineering and safety risks are adequately controlled
- Support site and operational teams to ensure the quality of installations, with minimal risk to Network security
- Evaluate tenders and procure and manage specialist services from consultants
