NPI Manufacturing Engineer – Bedfordshire £40k - £50k Salary Benefits

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced NPI Manufacturing Engineer to join a growing advanced manufacturing business working on complex metallic products and assemblies.

This NPI Manufacturing Engineer role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced engineering environment and enjoys taking new products from concept through to full production. The successful NPI Manufacturing Engineer will play a key role in driving industrialisation activities, improving manufacturability, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

• Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) activities from concept through to production ramp‑up
• Design and develop tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing processes for metallic components and assemblies
• Produce manufacturing documentation including SOPs, work instructions, and process flows
• Work closely with Design Engineering to improve design for manufacture (DFM) and producibility
• Support project delivery through effective planning, risk management, and milestone tracking
• Collaborate with Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations teams to ensure smooth product industrialisation
• Support PFMEA/DFMEA activities and drive risk mitigation actions during NPI phases
• Liaise with external suppliers regarding tooling and manufacturing support
• Assess manufacturing methods to ensure the most cost‑effective production solutions
• Support capital equipment and tooling investment justifications
• Ensure manufacturing processes comply with relevant quality and regulatory standards

• Previous experience within an NPI Manufacturing Engineer or Manufacturing Engineering position
• Strong understanding of the full NPI lifecycle and product industrialisation
• CAD experience with the ability to create and interpret technical drawings
• Experience developing manufacturing sequences for complex assemblies
• Knowledge of PFMEA, PPAP, and continuous improvement methodologies
• Experience working with MRP/ERP systems
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities within a manufacturing environment
• Understanding of fabricated and machined component manufacturing processes
• Experience with welding and non‑destructive testing would be advantageous
• Commercial awareness including make‑vs‑buy and cost analysis considerations desirable

• Degree qualified in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical discipline
• Equivalent industry experience will also be considered
