- Materials Handling Dagenham (Site-Based Role) Competitive Salary Overtime Benefits The Opportunity We're looking for a skilled Site Engineer to join our on-site service team in Dagenham , responsible for maintaining and repairing materials handling and ancillary equipment . This is a varied, customer-facing role where you'll play a key part in ensuring equipment uptime, delivering excellent service, and acting as a trusted technical expert on-site.
You'll also work closely with the Area Service Manager , supporting day-to-day operations and helping maintain strong customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on materials handling equipment Diagnose faults and carry out mechanical and electrical repairs Complete accurate service reports, job sheets, and timesheets Manage and control on-site parts stock effectively Build strong customer relationships , ensuring service delivery meets contractual expectations Liaise with the After Sales team to provide updates, ETAs, and repair progress Identify and complete chargeable repair work Ensure full compliance with health & safety regulations Identify and pass on sales leads for equipment and aftersales services Act as a professional company ambassador at all times Occasional call-out and overtime work may be required.
About You We're open to engineers from a variety of service and maintenance backgrounds, including:
Automotive / Vehicle Technicians HGV / Heavy Vehicle Engineers Plant / Construction Equipment Engineers Forklift / Materials Handling Engineers Ex-Forces / Military Engineers You'll also have:
